Type & Forme’s Dr Anke Timmermann wrote on the history of an early modern alchemical work for the blog of Glasgow University’s special collections.

In this blog post, Anke traces the ways in which the beautifully illustrated ‘Crowning of Nature’ manuscripts were copied in the early modern period as well as their journey through the hands of collectors in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is based on research undertaken during her Library Fellowship at Glasgow in summer 2019, and expands Anke’s article on the Ferguson collection which was published in The Book Collector.
